HOLIDAYS IN TERM TIME
We believe that children need to be in school for all sessions in order for them to achieve their maximum potential. We strongly discourage parents and carers from arranging any holiday or absence during term time as they are not in the best interests of the child. Any application for leave must only be in exceptional circumstances and the Headteacher must be satisfied that the circumstances are exceptional and warrant the granting of leave.
From 1st September 2013 amendments to the 2006 School Attendance Regulations make it clear that Headteachers may not grant any requests for holidays in term time.
A ‘Leave of Absence Request’ form is required to be completed 6 weeks prior to any requests for holidays / absences from school. The form is available here to download or from the school office.
