What an exciting and busy time it has been in Year 6! We have been learning, creating, watching, celebrating and relaxing all in one brilliant stretch of the term. Here’s a look at some of the highlights we’ve enjoyed together.

🏰 History: Crime and Punishment Complete
We have officially finished our Crime and Punishment history unit, and wow – the Tudors were brutal! We explored the harsh and sometimes shocking punishments used in Tudor times and compared them to how laws and justice have changed today. From public punishments to strict laws, it really made us appreciate how far society has come.

🎭 Pantomime Fun: Jack and the Beanstalk
One of our favourite moments was watching the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk. We absolutely loved joining in with the loud cheering, booing the villain and laughing along with the jokes. It was amazing to see everyone
getting involved and enjoying the traditional pantomime experience together.

🎨 Art: Self-Portrait Success
In art, we completed our self-portrait unit, inspired by the work of Ileana Hunter. We worked hard on sketching ourselves carefully, focusing on detail and shading to make our drawings realistic and expressive. The finished portraits looked fantastic and really showed how much our skills have improved.

🎄 Party Day Celebrations
Party Day was full of festive fun! We played lots of games, completed Christmas quizzes, made beautiful Christmas cards and even listened to The Grinch tell his story. There was a wonderful, cheerful atmosphere and lots of smiles all around.

💤 Pyjama Day Relaxation
To finish things off, we enjoyed a cosy Pyjama Day. We relaxed in our PJs, watched a film and sipped delicious hot chocolate. It was the perfect calm and cosy way to wind down after such a busy and exciting time.

What a fantastic set of memories for Year 6! We’ve worked hard, had lots of fun and made the most of every moment together. 🎉
