Another fantastic week in Year 5! We are so proud of how hard all the children have worked this week.

In English we have continued to read our novel 'Beowulf' and have been introduced to the character Grendel, who is the villian of the story. We have used evidence from the text to build up an impression of him and analysed how the writer has created different atmospheres.

In Science this week, we have started to look at Properties of Materials - we now understand the difference between the property of different materials and the type of material it is.

In our Art lessons this week, we have researched the artist Claude Monet. We have found out that he was one of the founders of the the Impressionism Art Movement, whose painting were more about the artist's impression of a scene that painting it it exactly as it looked.

In History, we recapped and delved deeper into analysing reasons why the Roman Empire fell and researched what life was like in Britain after the Romans left and before the Anglo Saxons arrived.

Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you all on Monday!
