This week, we’ve made great progress across all our subjects.
In Maths, we began our multiplication unit, focusing on factors, multiples, and identifying common ones—building strong foundations for future problem-solving. Our times table knowledge has really helped us in this unit!
In English, we continued exploring The Lady of Shalott, working hard to understand the vocabulary and uncover the meaning behind the poem’s rich language. A new character was introduced this week 'Sir Lancelot' and we used our reading skills to explore how the poet built up a description of the character.
Our History lessons took us deeper into the Anglo-Saxon period, where we explored their religious beliefs and how these changed over time.
In Science, we carried out our first investigation of the year, making predictions and testing which solids are soluble or insoluble.
To recognise World Mental Health Day, we discussed why looking after our mental health was just as important as looking after our physical health. We talked about positive and negative feelings and explored what different feeling made us think of. We created 'doodles' of what feelings such as joy, anger, pride and excitement made us think of.
It’s been a week full of curiosity, discovery, and thoughtful learning. Have a lovely weekend and we shall see you on Monday!
