This week in Year 4 has been full of creativity, resilience and thoughtful learning!
In English, we focused on Elliot’s discovery of the Earth Stone and explored our own opinions on whether he made the right choice in handing the chaos stones to Thanatos. We just have two more chapters to read and we are really excited about finding out what has happened to Elliot.
In Maths, we concluded our topic on length and perimeter by calculating the perimeter of both regular and irregular polygons. We can now all describe the differences between a regular and an irregular polygon.
The children showed fantastic perseverance in DT as they completed their spotlights, successfully creating circuits to light them up before evaluating their finished designs—each one brightened by the colourful acetate they chose.
In History, we brought our enquiry question to a close by showcasing everything we have learned about the Greeks.
As part of Mental Health Week, we enjoyed a lovely session with Miss Bullen where the children created maps representing the places where they feel they belong; it was wonderful to hear their thoughtful ideas.
This week’s homework is a Learning Postcard, regular reading, and continued practice on TT Rockstars—especially spending time in Garage Mode. The children are working incredibly hard, and we encourage them to keep it up!
Have a fantastic half-term!
