Year 4 Weekly Update

It has been a fun-filled and engaging week in Year 4, with plenty of exciting activities and fantastic learning across the curriculum.

After-school events added a special touch to the week. On Tuesday, the children had a brilliant time at the school disco, enjoying music, dancing, and spending time with their friends. On Wednesday, we were proud to showcase the children's creativity and effort at our Art Exhibition, where their talent and hard work were on full display.

This week also included two transition days, which gave the children a valuable opportunity to experience what life in Year 5 will be like. They approached this change with enthusiasm and curiosity, and we were very proud of how well they adapted.

In Maths, we have been learning about coordinates, including how to identify positions and translate them across a grid. In English, we explored the journey of Arthur, Rose, and Win into the Tanglewood Forest, focusing on the characters' emotions and development throughout the story.

Our Geography lessons have been particularly exciting, as we looked into what causes earthquakes and began exploring the world's various climates and biomes. We also discussed the difference between weather and climate, helping the children to develop a clearer understanding of these concepts.

In Art, the children began work on their final piece by creating a background using watercolours, demonstrating the techniques and skills they have developed over the term.

This week’s homework includes a music carousel quiz, spellings, and times tables practice.

Wishing you all a lovely and restful weekend!
