Welcome to Y1R!

 

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know everyone this week and I am super excited for the year ahead! The children have all settled in well and are adjusting to the transition from Reception to Year 1. Thank you for all of your hard work throughout your first week in Year 1!

 

In English, Year 1 all received a letter from Professor Klunk. He told us that they have been using our drawings and codes (from Drawing Club) to help with their Big Dream Story Machine. We have no idea what Professor Klunk looks like so we’ve been guessing with pictures and writing. They told us they need our help to go on a QUEST. We of course said we’d join them!

 

In Geography, the children have started to look at human and physical features. The children worked in small groups to identify different examples of human and physical features. We have also been completing our field work focus for this year. Our question is ‘which street is quieter near our school?’ the children have counted the number of cars they could see in 1 minute on Green Lane and School Lane at different times throughout the day.
