On Monday, we recieved a letter and parcel again! The letter was signed from Professor Klunk, saying how pleased he is with all the work the children have been producing for him to see use for his quest. He has asked the children whether they could extend their written work further by adding more detail, in the hope it will help him with his quest quicker! The children have been responding to reading questions based on the book 'Hairy Maclary', ensuring they include the codes needed: capital letters, finger spaces and full stops throughout their work consistently.
In Maths, the children have been comparing amounts and numbers using the phrases: greater than, less than and equal to as well as looking at the corresponding symbols <,> and =. I have been really impressed with how well the children have understood the difficult concept of using symbols to compare amounts and numbers.
In Science, the children have followed on from animal body parts to looking at human body parts. We played games of Simon Says to help us remember all of the body parts before they labelled a human body.
In Science, the children have continued to look at what the different amenties are in Standish and the particular service they offer.
In Art, the children practiced painting a piece similar to the work of Kandinsky! They used different colours in circular motions.
The children had a wonderfully fun time down in Forest School again this week, they have been building dens, making huts for squirrels and playing hide and seek!
Homework this week is two Sounds Write activities based on the /ee/ sound we have been learning.
Any questions, please ask!
