Y1P 28/11/25
Date: 28th Nov 2025 @ 1:18pm
Another superb week completed in Y1P!
In English, we have finished reading our text 'Lost and Found' the children were thrilled the boy and the penguin were reunited back together again, at the end of the story. The children have sequenced the key parts of the story onto a stop map and also added time adverbials to their story map! In preparation for retelling the story next week in English.
In Maths, the children have looked at subtraction by crossing out and taking away.
In History, we had a special visitor in to a deliver a talk with the children all about Standish and how it has changed over time. Jim, our visitor, shared lots of facts about Standish and shared many images with the children, he even had the first school photo from Wood Fold in 1971!
In DT, we tested which material would be most suitable for creating our hand muff. The children tested cotton, lace and felt over a frozen glove and decided felt was most suited.
In Computing, the children continued to practice their skills on Paintz. This week we looked at the artist 'Wassily Kandinsky' and recreated his art work.
It was unfortunately our last Forest School session yesterday, it has been a joy seeing all the children immerse themselves into every session!
Homework this week is on MyMaths.
Any questions, please ask!
