On Monday it was lovely to see everyone take part in 'Odd Socks day' as part of Anti-bullying Week. The children have completed activities this week based on different acts of kindness, such as helping someone if they fall over.
In Maths, the children have been looking at finding a part of an amount and how we need to subtract/takeaway numbers to find the answer.
In History, the children identified different amenities in Standish in the past such as: Cinema, train station and butchers.
In Computing, the children continued to develop their skills on 'Paintz'. They had a go at recreating work by the artist Piet Mondrian, using squares, rectangles and the primary colours.
In DT, the children investigated different items of clothing and decided which would be most suited for us to design and create as part of our DT project this term. The children explored: washing up gloves, fingerless gloves, first aid gloves, hand warmers and hand muffs. The children collectively decided that designing and creating a handmuff would be most suited.
This week in Forest School was certainly a muddy one! Nonetheless, the children had so much fun and it was lovely to see them exploring the grounds.
A polite reminder for reading books to be returned on a Friday, so a new book can be sent home with your child.
Homework this week is on MyMaths.
Any questions, please ask!
