Our first full week completed in Year 1P, and I am extremely proud of how well all the children are adjusting to the transition into Year 1!

On Monday, we received a special delivery (we assume from Professor Klunk!) and it was our first text of the term ‘Oi Frog!’. The children have answered multiple questions in relation to the book, ensuring they use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops for their codes to help Professor Klunk with his ‘Big Story Dream Machine’.

In Maths, the children have been representing objects using tens frames and counters.

In Science, the children have explored all five animal categories: Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Fish and Birds. The children have then learnt about the different diets animals have and can group animals into whether they are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores.

Our fieldwork topic is also complete for this term and we have discovered that School Lane is a lot more busy than Green Lane! Please see attached our Pictogram!

We had our first Forest School session on Thursday, and it was great to see the children having fun and exploring our Forest School grounds!

Homework is on MyMaths this weekend, all the children have received a letter explaining how to log into MyMaths and we have also stuck in their login details at the front of their reading records.
