Welcome back Year 1P, I hope you all had a fun and relaxing half term.

This week we have started to read our new text in English, 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers. The children have predicted who they think the suitcase may belong to, what the boy might be thinking when the penguin knocks on his front door and how the penguin feels. I have been extremely impressed with the work they have all produced this week!

In Maths, we have been practicing our number bonds to 10 and have been adding two numbers together within 10.

In History, we explored the key vocabulary of 'Past' and 'Present' and what that means in relation to concept of time. This term the children will be exploring how Standish has changed over time.

In Science, we have started to learn about the 4 seasons: Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. The children worked in groups to sort different images into the correct season.

In Computing, the children this term will be focusing on the topic Creating Media. The children used the iPads and scanned a QR code to take them to the internet browser 'Paintz'. The children explored the different tools such as paintbrush, fill, rubber and pencil. 

Homework this week are Sounds Write activities based on /er/ sound. 

On Monday, we will be taking part in Odd Socks Day!
