This week in Drawing Club, we read the story Lost in the Toy Museum. The children loved following the characters’ adventure through the museum and imagining what it would be like if their own toys could come to life!
We have launched our new topic, all about toys. The children talked about their favourite toys at home and enjoyed discussing what makes them special. We also began looking at toys from the past, comparing them to the ones we play with today. It was lovely to hear the children’s curiosity and excitement as they explored old-fashioned toys and spotted the similarities and differences.
In math's, the children have been busy investigating mass and capacity. They enjoyed lots of practical activities such as comparing the weight of objects, exploring balance scales, and experimenting with measuring containers.
Our Mondrian-inspired artwork is now complete! After learning about Piet Mondrian and his use of bold lines and primary colours, the children created their own eye-catching designs. This week, they enjoyed evaluating their finished pieces, talking about what they liked best and what they might try differently next time.
In PE, the children have been practising travelling in different ways. They experimented with moving like different animals, navigating space safely, and using a variety of movements such as jumping, sliding, tiptoeing, hopping and marching. Their energy and enthusiasm were wonderful to see!
Thank you for sending in the children's favourite books, they loved sharing these in RE.
Have a lovely weekend 😊
