We have had a brilliant week in Reception!

In drawing club, we read Where Is the Dragon? by Leo Timmers. The children helped the knight think of ways to see in the dark and designed a map to help him get back to the castle. They enjoyed drawing their ideas and sharing them with the class.

In Maths, we continued learning about numbers to 10. The children practised comparing numbers and explored different ways to make 9 and 10. They also worked on spotting smaller numbers within bigger groups.

Our castles and dragons theme continued this week. The children learned about a coat of arms and helped design one for our class. They also created their own. We looked closely at dragons and the children designed and labelled their own imaginative dragons.

We also celebrated World Book Day. The children shared stories, took part in fun reading activities, and enjoyed a nursery rhyme hunt.

At Forest School we wrapped up warm and went looking for the first signs of spring. The children spotted buds, shoots and early flowers.

To finish our week, the children made crowns and enjoyed a banquet together. 👑
