This week in Reception, we have continued learning about Africa. In Drawing Club, we enjoyed the story Giraffes Can't Dance. The children loved following Gerald's journey and discussing the important messages about perseverance, confidence and celebrating our own unique talents.

In Maths, we have continued developing our understanding of positional language. The children have been using vocabulary such as behindin front ofnext to and between to describe the position of objects. We have also begun exploring simple mapping skills, learning how maps can help us represent places and follow routes.

In Art, we have been introduced to silhouette art. The children have looked closely at examples of African landscapes and animals and have started creating their own artwork. This week, they have begun painting colourful sunset backgrounds, ready for their silhouette designs. We can't wait to see the finished pieces and share them with you soon!

The children have shown great enthusiasm and creativity in all of their learning, and we are very proud of the effort they have put into their work this week.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Tolley :)
