We've had an exciting week of discovery, storytelling, and big ideas in our classroom. Here's a peek into what your child has been up to:
✈️ English – Emma Jane’s Aeroplane
We soared through the final part of our Emma Jane’s Aeroplane story! This week, the children imagined what the animals would tell their families about their whirlwind adventure across the world. From soaring alongside Emma Jane to encountering bustling cities and beautiful landscapes, their creativity was truly inspiring. Ask your child what their favourite part of the adventure was!
🔢 Maths – Counting in 5s
This week, we mastered counting in 5s! The children practised skip counting forwards and backwards, recognising patterns and using their new skills to solve problems. Try asking your child to count by 5s while you walk up the stairs or set the table—it’s a great way to reinforce their learning.
🏅 History – Bessie Coleman
The children learned all about the inspirational Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman to hold a pilot’s licence. We discussed her determination, resilience, and achievements, and the children shared their thoughts on what makes a person courageous. It was wonderful to see them connecting her story to their own dreams for the future!
Looking Ahead
Next week, we’ll be diving into new topics, exploring more exciting stories, and building on our skills. We can’t wait for another fantastic week of learning!
