This week in Year 6 has been packed with exciting learning across all subjects. Here’s a look at what we’ve been getting up to in class:

English
We have started reading our new class book, Holes by Louis Sachar. The children have already been introduced to some very interesting characters and a strange, mysterious setting. There have been lots of thoughtful discussions and predictions about what might happen next, and everyone is keen to keep reading!
Maths
In Maths, we began learning about ratio. The children explored what ratio means and how to write it using the ratio symbol. They did a great job comparing quantities and explaining their thinking using mathematical vocabulary.
History &  Science
We wrapped up our History and Science units this week. To finish, the children wrote their own enquiry questions, which were absolutely amazing. These questions clearly demonstrated their understanding of the topics and showed how much knowledge they have gained through thoughtful investigation and curiosity.
Art
In Art, we analysed our self-portraits to reflect on whether we had successfully used the techniques of Ileana Hunter. The children gave careful consideration to their use of line, detail, and expression, showing great reflection skills and pride in their artwork.
Computing
In Computing, we learned how to use hyperlinks to connect pages together. The children applied this skill by creating websites all about Crime and Punishment, linking pages effectively to help users navigate their work.

Well done, Year 6, for another fantastic week of hard work and enthusiasm. Keep it up!
