This week in Year 4 has been full of exciting learning!

In English, we have been exploring Rhianna’s thoughts and feelings, which has helped us begin planning our own diary entries written in role as Rhianna—the children came up with lots of brilliant ideas.
In Maths, we have been converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions, then using number lines to help us find equivalent fractions.

In Science, we started our new topic on animals and their habitats, looking at different animal groups, their characteristics, and how we can classify them based on similarities.
In Geography, we continued learning about climate and biomes, discovering how different places around the world have their own unique climates and biome types.
In Art, we began our still life topic by analysing the work of three artists and comparing their similarities and differences.

We also had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Week! We were very lucky to have a visit from author Emma Reynolds, who wrote Amara and the Bat, and she taught us how to draw an amazing bat of our own. On Thursday, the children looked wonderful in their costumes—it was lovely to see all the creative outfits. We completed lots of fun acitivtes from writing a book review on our favourite book to creating our own book cover and comin book strips based around the books we love to read.

This week’s homework is a History Carousel on the Ancient Greeks, spellings, and plenty of TT Rockstars practice on Garage. We have set up a year 4 battle between the classes, so make sure yu are getting lots of practice in to win the battle!
Have a great weekend!
