This week in Year 4 has been full of exciting learning.

In English, we have been writing a diary as Bran, carefully focusing on his thoughts and feelings about having to kill one of his own warriors to protect Talos, which helped us develop empathy and descriptive writing skills.

In Maths, we finished our unit on time, practising how to convert between the 12-hour and 24-hour clock.

In Science, we explored Robert Boyle’s experiment and learned that a vacuum is a place with no air, meaning sound cannot travel because it needs a medium; we looked at how he demonstrated this by placing a ringing bell in a jar and removing the air.

In History, we continued learning about Roman legacies and created mind maps to help us remember key features such as aqueducts, public baths, houses, concrete, and roads.

We also had a lovely afternoon in the forest on Thursday observing froglets, and on Friday we really enjoyed watching and dancing along with the jazz band performance in the hall

. A huge well done to all the children in Year 4 for completing their official times tables check this week—we are very proud of how hard they worked.

Homework this week is a music carousel, times tables practice, and spellings. Have a lovely weekend!
