5/12/2025 Y1R

Date: 5th Dec 2025 @ 3:41pm

What a lovely week we have had in Y1R in the run up to Christmas!

In English, we've been retelling the story of "Lost and Found," I have been wowed by the incredible work the kids have produced.

For Maths, they've been busy exploring and naming various 3D shapes.

Things got festive in PE, where they tackled the "Crimbo Limbo" challenge with Mr. Carr—lots of laughs were had by all! We've attached some photos so you can see the fun they had.

In Geography, we started exploring continents. The children can now confidently tell you that a continent is a large, solid piece of land.

In Dt, the children explored the different types of fastenings that they could to secure their hand muff.

For this week's homework, we're focusing on the /ow/ sound as part of the Sounds Write program.

Just a heads-up: don't forget Wednesday, December 10th, is Christmas Jumper Day! Also, mark your calendars for our Christmas performances, scheduled for Thursday, December 11th, and Friday, December 12th.
