Hi everyone,
It has been a week full of celebration and achievement in Year 6; we are so proud of everything the children have accomplished over the last few days.
Town Sports Champions
First of all, a huge well done to all of our Year 6 pupils who took part in Town Sports. Both our Year 3 and 4 team and our Year 5 and 6 team won their overall competitions, which means Wood Fold are Wigan Town Sports Champions for the fourth year in a row! An incredible achievement and a true team effort. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Peter Pan Performances
Secondly, a massive congratulations to our amazing Peter Pan cast. After months of dedication, rehearsals and hard work, the children performed three incredible shows this week. Their talent, energy and teamwork absolutely shone on stage. It was a real joy to watch and a moment they should all feel very proud of.

History
We have now completed our Industrial Revolution unit and are beginning to explore how this period links to the monarchy of the time and everyday life in the Victorian era. The children are already making some fantastic connections and asking thoughtful questions about how society changed during Queen Victoria’s reign.

Science
In Science, we continued our learning on evolution and inheritance by exploring the case of the peppered moth. The children learned how this species adapted its appearance during the Industrial Revolution to survive changes in its environment, providing real-life evidence of natural selection. It was a fascinating link to both our Science and History learning.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We are making the most of these final weeks together and look forward to our final couple of weeks in school.
