What a lovely last week of term we have had!

This week, we have written amazing setting descriptions to describe Cairo. The children used details from Secrets of a Sun King to gather the different items and qualities that can be seen in Cairo and used beautiful expanded noun phrases to add detail to the scenery. The children also experimented with prepositional phrases to explain where the different features were. This meant that they could really paint a picture of exactly what Cairo is like and communicate it to the reader.
In History, we have discussed the legacies of the Ancient Egyptians. The children wrote about what pyramids, hieroglyphics and papyrus is and considered how they are still used today. We also compared cave paintings from the Stone Age to hieroglyphics in Ancient Egypt. It was lovely to see the children have the ability to recall their previous learning and compare it with their new learning.
In. Ash's, we have finished our capacity and volume topic. The children have wowed me with their rapid recall of timestables this week, also. Keep up the practise and hard work.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe Easter Holiday.
After half term, we will be doing PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please ensure that PE Kits are therefore brought in on the first day back.

Enjoy your half term!
