We've had a brilliant week in Year 3 again this week!
In Maths, we have started our new unit on Length and Perimeter and developed our understanding of meters, centimeters and millimeters. The children have learned how to convert millimeters, centimeters and meters to compare lengths.
In English, the children wrote some fantastic diary entries form Selvi's perspective! I was amazed at how well they took on the role of Selvi and how they portrayed her thoughts and feelings throughout. We have also continued our class text of 'The girl who lost a Leopard' and discussed where the children think Ravindu got the copper coin from.
In Geography, we continued to look at the different features of a river and what erosion is and how it happens. Next week we will be looking at this further and learning about what deposition is.
In Science, we learned all about what fossils are. We looked at how fossils are formed through animals and plants dying, then they become buried in sedimentary rock for many years before being exposed through erosion.
In Computing, the children learned how to order commands on Scratch and add sounds to their sequences.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
