We have had another great week in year 3 this week with lots of fantastic learning taking place.
In English, we read Chapter 3. Barney was concerned that Stig had got cold during the winter and together they made a fire to warm him up. They chopped the wood, started a fire, and ate chestnuts until nighttime. We then looked back through Chapter 3 and collected evidence that showed how Barney felt at different points during the chapter.
In Maths, we have continued our multiplication and division unit. This week our focus has been on multiplying and dividing by three and the 4 times tables. The children are becoming much more confident with their 3s and 4s.
In Science, we looked at the five main food groups. We completed a mind map that showcased the children’s knowledge on this including facts and pictures.
In history, we looked at how the Stone Age people, Bronze Age people and Iron Age people obtained their food. Next week we will be looking at how tools were made through the ages and how they were used.
This week, we were fortunate to have a visit form the Greater Manchester Fire Service. Three members of their team came to talk to the children about their job roles and responsibilities. It is amazing for the children to see and speak to important people in our community and understand how they help us.
I hope you have a lovely weekend,
Miss Robinson
