This week in Drawing Club we read ‘Lila and the secret of rain’ by David Conway and Jude Daly. We drew and described things that made us happy; invented a way for the villagers to irrigate their crops and designed musical instruments for a party. Inspired by this, we made our own musical instruments and enjoyed singing and dancing with them. We also made African inspired jewellery and animal models.
In Maths, we have been thinking about positional language. We enjoyed reading ‘Cockatoos’ by Quentin Blake and had fun finding all the cockatoos and describing where they were hiding. We completed a drawing challenge where Mrs Harris described a picture and we had a go at drawing it without looking
.
Two of our butterflies emerged this week and the children were excited to watch them being released.
We consolidated our learning in RE and made a page in the floor book to celebrate all the ways we can look after our World. We revisited the artist Vincent Van Gogh and looked at some of his self-portraits before having a go at creating our own which will be on the front of reports!
It has been a very busy week!
Have a lovely weekend.
