The children have had a lovely week this week. In Drawing Club, we read The Enormous Turnip and the children came up with their own imaginative ideas for how to pull the giant turnip out of the ground.

In maths, we explored 3D shapes — finding the 2D shapes within them, testing which ones roll, and spotting them around the environment.

In art, we looked at Vincent Van Gogh’s 'Sunflowers' painting. Taking inspiration from the famous artist we began creating our own sunflower collages, practising our tearing and cutting skills, the children are very proud of their sunflower masterpieces and we are going to display them on our classroom wall.

In PSHE, we talked about sharing and started a class Sharing Jar to celebrate kind and helpful moments.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Dyson and Mrs Powell
