We've had a fantastic week back after half term!

In Maths, we have started our new unit on fractions. The children have explored the difference between a unit and a non-unit fraction. We also discussed that a whole is when the numerator and the denominator are the same value.

In English, we have been looking at the poem 'My mother saw a dancing bear'. We explored features of the poem, including the rhyming pattern, unfamiliar vocabulary and rhyming couplets. The children have loved coming up with their own rhyming couplets for describing Lokka the leopard from our previous book!

In Geography, we have finished our unit on 'Rivers'. We looked at where the River Nile is,  how it is used and the environmental issues the River Nile faces.

In DT, we have made our drawstring bags and evaluated our design. I am so proud of how well the children have made their bags and how they persevered when faced with different challenges when sewing!

I hope you have a lovely weekend!
