We hope you all had a wonderful and restful half term. It’s lovely to have everyone back in school, ready for another fun and busy few weeks of learning!

In Maths, we’ve been exploring numbers up to 50. The children have been practising how to partition numbers into tens and ones, helping them understand the structure of larger numbers. They’ve really enjoyed using equipment and drawings to show how a number can be made in different ways.

In English, we’ve started our new book The Rabbit Problem. The children have been looking closely at the different problems the rabbits faced in January, February, and April. We’ve had lots of great discussions about the challenges shown in the book and how the rabbits tried to solve them.

Our Art lessons has been all about Beatrix Potter. This week, we created an artist profile page to learn more about her life and her beautiful artwork. Throughout this term, we will be working towards recreating a painting in the style of Beatrix Potter, which we’re very excited about!

In Science, we’ve been learning about plant categories. The children have enjoyed exploring the different types of plants and thinking about how we can group them based on their features.

This term in Geography, we are learning about the United Kingdom. We’ve been working on identifying the four countries that make up the UK and locating them on a map. The children are becoming confident in naming England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

We’re looking forward to another brilliant week ahead and can’t wait to see what the children achieve next!
