Another busy week in Year 2.
This week in History, we have been finding out about the Queen’s coronation. We found out why and when it happened and where it took place.
In our Personal Development sessions, we have been considering the different rules that we must follow as British Citizens. We discussed why rules are important and that if we break the rules there may be a consequence.
In DT, we have been sewing on binca. We worked hard using the running stitch. Next week, we are looking forward to sewing on felt.
During our Computing sessions, we have been looking at different examples of information technology that we have in school. We considered which items are examples of IT and which ones aren’t.
In Maths, we have now completed our place value unit. We ended the week by developing our ability to count in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Earlier in the week, the children produced some amazing pieces of writing! The children took on the role of Paddington when writing a recount about his trip to London. It was lovely to see the children using expanded noun phrases and time adverbials in their writing.
This afternoon, we have been back in the forest. After reading a story about a squirrel, we then created our very own squirrel dens for them to shelter in.
Have a lovely weekend.
