This week we introduced our dinosaur topic! The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning interesting facts about dinosaurs such as how they lived; what they ate; what they looked like and their different names. The children enjoyed creating their own 'junk' dinosaurs and showed lots of creativity.

In Drawing Club, we read ‘Dinosaur Roar!’ by Paul and Henrietta Stickland. The children enjoyed using different describing words for each of the dinosaurs in the story such as meek and fierce, they have then continued this lovely vocabulary in their play.

In Maths we have continued with sorting. We have created our own sorting rules and techniques with buttons and various objects in the class.

We have continued with the sounds /n/, /o/and /p/ which we have used to build and read words.

The children had a great time in the forest on Monday. They listened to a story about acorns which explained how an acorn grows into an oak tree. They searched for their own acorns which they planted in pots to create our own acorn nursery as well as planting lots in holes in the ground – hopefully we will see some tiny trees growing in the Spring!

Have a lovely weekend!
