This week in Year 4, we have had a busy and exciting time across all of our subjects.

In English, the children have worked hard to write detailed setting descriptions based on The Land of Roar, using adverbial openers, expanded noun phrases and their senses to bring their writing to life.

In Maths, we have explored statistics, looking at line graphs, pictograms and bar charts, and thinking carefully about when each is best used to analyse data.

In Science, we enjoyed going outside to investigate pitch through our bottle experiment and explored how different amounts of water affect high and low sounds. We also observed how rice grains move on a drum, helping us understand how air particles travel in sound waves.

In Geography, we learned about tectonic plates and their boundaries, labelling these on a map. The children have done a great job continuing to learn despite the heat, showing great effort and resilience. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the shade with our books and having ice lollies on Thursday.

Homework this week is a carousel activity, spellings and TT Rockstars. Have a lovely weekend!
