Wood Fold Sports Day
Wood Fold's Sports Day was a fantastic event filled with excitement, hard work, and determination. Pupils from every year group took part in a variety of activities, including sprint races, hurdles, sack races, and field events. Everyone showed great enthusiasm and encouraged their classmates throughout the day.
The atmosphere was full of energy as families, teachers, and friends gathered to cheer on the children. Every participant tried their best, showing excellent sportsmanship, resilience, and respect for one another. The events were closely contested, with many exciting finishes that kept the crowd entertained.
Overall, Wood Fold Sports Day was a memorable occasion that celebrated fitness, teamwork, and having fun together. It was a successful day enjoyed by everyone involved.
Wood Fold Reach the North West Boccia Finals
Congratulations to the Wood Fold Boccia team on their fantastic achievement in reaching the North West Boccia Finals. The team represented the school with pride, showing determination, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Playing against some of the best school teams from across the North West, our pupils demonstrated great skill, concentration and resilience in every match. Boccia is a game that requires accuracy, patience and tactical thinking, and the Wood Fold team showed all of these qualities while supporting and encouraging one another.
Although the competition was tough, every player gave their best effort and never gave up. Their positive attitude and respect for other competitors reflected the school's values and made everyone proud. Reaching the North West Finals is a wonderful achievement and a reward for all of the hard work and practice the team has put in over the year. Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to the staff, families and supporters who helped make the experience so memorable.

Year 5 & 6 Town Sports Heats
Well done to our Year 5 and Year 6 athletics team for their fantastic performances at the Town Sports Heats this week in the very hot and humid weather conditions. Representing Wood Fold with pride, the children competed in a range of track and field events against schools from across the local area.Throughout the competition, every member of the team demonstrated determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship. Whether competing in sprint races, relays, long-distance events or field events, the children gave their very best and supported one another every step of the way.
There were some outstanding individual performances, with both Lyla (Y6) & Alfie (Y6) winning the girls and boys throwing event. As well as this, both Jasmine (Y6) and Arthur (Y6) achieved the silver medal in both the boys and girls jumping event, helping the team score valuable points. Congratualtions goes to both Lyla and Jude for getting through their heats in the 400m and 80m sprint, as well as the girls relay team, who worked brilliantly together, showing great teamwork and determination to get through their heat.
Most importantly, the children represented Wood Fold in an exemplary manner, displaying respect, encouragement and a positive attitude throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of all the athletes for their hard work and commitment in training and during the competition. Congratulations to everyone who took part, and we wish the team the very best of luck in the finals night next Tuesday.
