Hi everyone,
Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed some well-deserved rest and maybe even a bit of chocolate! It’s been great to see everyone return with such energy and enthusiasm for the new term.
Here’s what we’ve been getting stuck into this week:
Maths:
We’ve kicked off the term by diving into statistics and data analysis. The class has been working on interpreting and creating bar charts, line graphs, and pie charts. The children are getting really confident with analysing data. We’ve also explored nets of 3D shapes, which gave us a great chance to get hands-on and visualise how shapes come together.

English:
In English, we’ve been exploring atmosphere and theme through both Darwin’s Dragons and poetry. It’s been really interesting to see how different writers use similar techniques, like figurative language and imagery, to create completely different moods and settings.

Grammar:
We’ve continued to sharpen our grammar skills, with a focus this week on the progressive tenses. The children have done a great job spotting them in action and starting to apply this knowledge when reading passages and writing sentences.

RE:
In RE, we’ve been learning more about Easter traditions and exploring the meaning behind the ways different people celebrate around the world. The children asked thoughtful questions and shared their own experiences and ideas really respectfully.

PE:
This term’s PE focus is all about bat and ball skills. We’ve had a great time building up our technique through rounders and tennis. We have some serious talent already showing on the playground!
