What a fantastic week we've had in Year 2!

In English this week, we stepped into the shoes of Katie from Katie in London and wrote a recount of her exciting trip around the city. The children did a brilliant job using time adverbials to sequence events and included Katie’s thoughts and feelings. We also explored and compared Katie in London with Paddington at the Palace. After a great discussion, the children chose their favourite and explained why this text was their favourite.

During our History lesson this week we answered our enquiry question which was,Why were Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth such significant people?. The children impressed us with how much they remembered and how confidently they shared their knowledge. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm for learning about these two monarchs.

In Maths, we continued our work on addition and subtraction, focusing on adding and subtracting tens. The children have shown great progress and are becoming more confident with their mental maths strategies.

Our Paddington-themed DT project is coming along well! The children have been busy designing and making their own bags for Paddington, adding straps and fastenings this week.

We just wanted to end the term saying a big well done to all the children. We are so proud of them all for their hard work and enthusiasm this half term.

Have a lovely and restful half term holiday!
