We have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Julia Donaldson book, "Superworm." The class loved listening to all of Superworm's amazing feats and helping him in his quest to save his friends from the evil Wizard Lizard. We focused on using our descriptive words to describe Superworm. He is a truly super, stretchy, and strong hero! We put our fantastic describing words into wonderful sentences, paying close attention to our capital letters, finger spaces, and full stops.

In Maths, we have been working on our "fact families." The children have become experts at understanding how three numbers are related and how this helps us with both addition and subtraction. We used fun, practical resources to help us explore how if we know that 3 + 4 = 7, we also know that 4 + 3 = 7! It has been brilliant to see the children's confidence grow in their number knowledge.

The highlight of our half term was our trip to Imagination That! in Liverpool. It was a truly magical experience, with so many exciting and interactive activities. The children got to be scientists, artists, and role-play in the fantastic Imagination Village. We had so much fun and especially enjoyed the creative workshops and the immersive play zones.

It has been a super first half term, and we couldn't be prouder of how well the children have transitioned into Year 1. They have all worked incredibly hard and have made so much progress.

Have a lovely and restful half term break, everyone! We look forward to seeing all the children back, refreshed and ready for more learning adventures.
