Welcome back Y3H. I hope you have had a lovely and restful Easter and are ready to jump straight into another fantastic term of learning.

This week, in maths, we have been looking at fractions. We had been focusing on adding and subtracting fractions and finding a fraction of an amount.

In English, we have continued reading 'Secrets of a Sunking'. Lil, Tulip, Oz and Mrs Mendoza have arrived in Egypt. The children really enjoyed skimming and scanning the text and looking for evidence to describe Egypt. There was some beautiful and descriptive phrases that the children collected and presented in a spider diagram.

In Science, we completed our enquiry question on 'Forces and Magnets'. It was wonderful reading all the children's responses and seeing how much they remembered from this unit.

In Art we began our new topic on Sculpture. The children will be constructing a caopic jar from clay. In our first lesson, we explored pottery and what canopic jars were used for and what they looked like.

In Forest School, we were so fortunate to have amazing weather so that the children could have a look at the tadpoles in the pond, climb trees and build dens. We had a brilliant time!

I hope you have a lovely weekend and remember that clubs start next week!
