We have had a lovely week back in Reception enjoying the lovely weather!
In Drawing Club, after reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the children used their imagination to think of ways the caterpillar could escape from the hungry bird. They also talked about what they would like to transform into, sharing lots of imaginative ideas.
In maths, the children have explored numbers to 20. They have enjoyed playing counting games and matching numerals and picture representations as well as spotting missing numbers in a sequence.
The children were excited by the arrival of caterpillars in the classroom at the start of the wek. We have learned about the life cycle of a butterfly and drew the different stages in order. We are observing our own caterpillars and look forward to watching them change - they have already grown a lot!
In art, we have been learning about the artist Lucy Arnold. We have been exploring symmetry and used mirrors to help us draw the other half of a butterfly picture.
It was lovely to hear the children's Easter news and learn that so many of their beans and sunflowers are starting to grow.
Have a lovely weekend!
