Greater Manchester Boccia

After the success from the Wigan boccia competition earlier on this year, the Wood Fold boccia team competed in the Greater Manchester Finals on Wednesday at Bolton Sports Arena. The team were put in a group against teams from Bolton, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale and I am pleased to say they came out victorious and won the group. From here, the team made it all the way through to the finals where they finished runners-up in the competition. With this achievement, once again the team are now through to the North West regional finals, which will be held in Liverpool towards the end of June. An amazing achievement from the boys! All that hard work has definitely paid off!

Congratulations goes to Lyla (Y6) for her recent achievements in tennis over the last few weeks. Lyla travelled down to Bristol to take part in the Bristol/Avon U12s singles competition. We are delighted to announce that Lyla won the overall event and brought away with her a wonderful trophy! Lyla won the Ellesmere collage U14s doubles competition and the Chatsworth U14s event, defeating children 2-3 years older than her. Finally, whilst representing Bellingham Tennis Club, Lyla won the U18s Bolton league. A truly outstanding performance in all competitions for Lyla and a well-deserved victory! Wimbledon watch out!
