In English, we’ve been focusing on writing diary entries from the perspective of Bran. The children have been working hard to explore his thoughts and feelings, really getting into character to bring his experiences to life on the page. It’s been fantastic to see their empathy and creativity grow through this work.

Our Maths lessons have been all about money. We’ve been learning how to identify different coins and notes, understand their value, and even estimate amounts. This practical work is helping us become confident when handling money in real-life situations.

In Science, we dived into Robert Boyle’s famous experiment where he discovered that sound needs air (a medium) to travel through. We then explored the concept of a vacuum—a space with no air at all—and discussed how sound behaves in those conditions. It was great to see the children so curious about the science behind every day phenomena.

Thursday was a special day with our full DT day dedicated to pizza making! The children had so much fun making their own non-rising dough and decorating their pizzas with their favourite toppings. It was messy but very rewarding, and everyone enjoyed tasting their delicious creations.

In History, we learned about Boudica by looking at primary and secondary sources. We discussed what these different types of sources tell us about her life and legacy, helping us think critically about how history is recorded and remembered.

Finally, in Spanish, we continued to expand our vocabulary by learning more family members and how to say their names. The children are becoming confident speakers and are enjoying practising new words every week.

For homework this week, please continue practising times tables. When we return after half term, we will have our times tables quiz, so regular practice at home will really help.

Have a wonderful weekend and a fantastic half term break! We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for more learning after the holidays.
