Believe Sports Awards

Mr Carr was delighted to have attended the Believe Sports Awards at the Edge in Wigan last Saturday evening after receiving two nominations for Team of the Year, recognising the fantastic achievements of our cricket and athletics team!

The nominations are a wonderful achievement and a testament to the pupils’ hard work, dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm for sport. We are incredibly proud of everyone who has represented our school and shown such great sporting spirit.

Although Wood Fold didn’t pick up the award, it was a fantastic achievement to have been nominated and to be surrounded by sporting role models in the Wigan area.

We are absolutely delighted that Lyla Davis was nominated for the Young Sports Achiever Award, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in tennis!

Lyla’s dedication, determination and passion for tennis are truly inspiring. Her hard work and commitment to the sport have been fantastic to see, and this nomination is a wonderful recognition of all she has achieved in the past 12 months. Keep reaching for the stars, Lyla!

Mr Carr got to meet one of the England Cricket greats ‘Matthew Hoggard’, who was a key member of England's pace attack, alongside Andrew Flintoff, Steve Harmison and Simon Jones in the 2005 ashes series victory over Australia.

Sports Council

A huge congratulations goes to our Y6 students Thomas, Alice, Jordon, Maisie, Sam & Alice on being appointed as Sports Councillors for this year. The team will look at ways the school can improve their fitness and activeness during breaktimes and lunchtimes, as well as promoting physical activity, representing the student voice in PE and helping organise school athletic events.
