As we wrap up an exciting half-term, let us take a little look at all wonderful activities your children have been busy with in Year 1 this week!
**English: Retelling Percy's Bumpy Ride**
The week kicked off with a delightful retelling of "Percy's Bumpy Ride." The children had a fantastic time diving into Percy's adventurous story, and you would have been so proud of their creative imaginations! Who knew we had so many budding storytellers in our midst!
**Maths: Exploring Doubles and Equal Groups**
In Maths, the focus was on doubles and creating equal groups. The children explored learning activities, to better understand doubling numbers. It was great to see their confidence blossom as they discovered the magic of numbers working in pairs.
**History: The Adventures of Amelia Earhart**
Our budding historians delved deeper into the life of the remarkable aviator, Amelia Earhart. The classroom buzzed with excitement as they learned about her awe-inspiring flights. We discussed her adventures and role as a trailblazer for women in aviation. Their curiosity was truly inspiring! It's wonderful to see how Amelia's story motivates your children to dream big.
**Science: Answering Our Enquiry Question on Materials**
In Science, it was time to wrap up our enquiry into materials. The young scientists investigated various materials and their properties to discover what makes each one special. After lots of observations and thoughtful discussions, they proudly presented their findings.
As the week closes, we are all looking forward to the well-deserved May half-term holiday. It's been a term full of learning, laughter, and growth. We hope the children enjoy a restful break and return filled with enthusiasm for the adventures that await next term.
Thank you, parents, for your continued support and involvement. We wish you a lovely holiday with your little ones!
See you next term!
Warm regards,
Year 1 Team
