Wigan Cricket Champions

Yesterday, the Wood Fold cricket team were in action at the annual Wigan cricket competition, which was held at Highfield Cricket Club. The team were put into the group stage against 5 other schools. The children displayed brilliant batting, fielding and bowling throughout the group and won each game, making their way into the final. Over the last 2 years, the team have fell short in the final match against Orrell St James…but not this year! The boys really locked in, displaying incredible determination and teamwork to dominate in the final game, coming out victorious. The team are now through to the regional finals in July, were they will be representing Wigan to face teams from Cumbria, Lancashire and Manchester. We would all like to congratulate the boys on their fantastic win and to wish them with the best of luck moving forward!
