We have had another great week in Year 3.
The children have completed their ‘End of Autumn Term Quizzes’ and we are so proud of the effort and enthusiasm they put into them. We are so proud of the progress they have made so far.
In Maths, we have continued our topic on Multiplication and Division. This week, we have explored arrays, multiples of 2, 5 and 10 and we have looked at the difference between sharing and grouping.
In English, we have continued to read our class text ‘Stig of the Dump’. At first, Barney started doubt whether Stig was real, however the flint in his pocket reminded him that he is! Barney is learning more and more about Stig and how he is different from the other friends he knows.
In Computing, we explored the role of an animator. In pairs, we gathered ideas of what our animation is going to be about. We considered the beginning, middle and end and mapped this out on a storyboard. Next week, we will be using the Stop Motion app to bring our animations to life!
In Science, we looked at how animals can be grouped according to what they eat. Using our knowledge of herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, we explored different animals, we looked at their diets and decided which group they belonged to.
In History, we continued learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. This week we looked at the role of a hunter gatherer and how food was obtained across the ages.
In PSHE, we discussed the meaning of diversity and how differences create diversity.
We hope you have a lovely weekend. Be very careful and wrap up warmly if you go anywhere as the weather is very cold.
