What an absolutely jam-packed week we’ve had in Y1R! I’m incredibly proud of how hard all the children worked!

In English, our imaginations took flight! We thought about the stories the boy might have read the penguin on their epic journey to the South Pole.

Maths was all about becoming subtraction masters and finding a part of an amount. We also got creative with numbers, figuring out how to make eight different number sentences using just three numbers (fact families!).

For Science, we wrapped up warm and headed outside for an Autumn nature walk around the school grounds! We found loads of crunchy leaves, mysterious mushrooms, and shiny conkers. The signs of the season are everywhere!

In Computing, we channelled our inner artists! We explored the work of the famous Henri Matisse and worked hard to recreate one of his pieces using the 'Paintz' tools we've been practicing.

And finally, it was more fun down at Forest School! It was super chilly this week, so just a friendly heads-up: Thursday, November 27th will be our very last session.

Homework for this week is all about those Sounds Write activities, getting super slick with practicing the /e/ sound.

Well done, everyone! Have a great weekend!
