This week we have continued with our topic of ‘It’s cold outside!’. The children have started their first art project where they make an Artic Collage. They have experimented with mixing paints to make lighter and darker shades, as well as tearing and cutting paper to make an Artic scene.

In PE, the children have been practising different types of rolls; pencil roll, egg roll and teddy bear roll.

In drawing club, we have watched the animation ‘Hello Pingu’ – which the children absolutely loved! The children designed their own igloo’s and thought of ways for Pingu trick the naughty penguins. 

We have put our wonderful singing voices to work this week by singing lots of nursery rhymes to help us work out 1 more and less and even made our own current bun shop! The children have also had lots of fun playing maths games that showed them the composition of the number 5.

We braved the cold and had a short visit to the forest. The children had lots of fun pretending to be different animals that lived there and playing forest inspired games when we returned to the classroom.
