We've had a great week in Year 3!
In Maths, we have continued our unit on mass and capacity. We have looked at measuring mass in grams and kilograms and how we can compare them to see which mass is heavier or lighter.
In English, we have continued to read our class text 'Secrets of a sun king'. We have looked at Dr Hanawati's letter and how Lil felt throughout the beginning of the book by using evidence from the text.
In History, we looked at the legacy of the Egyptians. We focused on what hieroglyphics and pyramids are and why they are important. We also looked at what the Rosetta stone is and how it is the same transcript written in 3 different languages which was used to help decode hieroglyphics!
In Science, we observed how magnets attract and repel each other and some materials. The children loved experimenting with different objects and seeing whether they were magnetic.
In Computing, we continued our unit on branching databases and the children had a go at recreating a branching database that we created together on the iPads and even had a go at creating their own!
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
