We started the week with a trip to the forest where we were lucky to see lots of frogspawn in our pond. Mrs Grimshaw collected some for us to examine closely and we could see some of the tadpoles starting to wriggle. We listened to a story about frogs and acted out the journey of a frog from a tiny egg to an adult frog. We look forward to seeing frogs in the future. When Fledglings visited the forest later in the week, they found a newt which they brought back to show us before returning it to its own habitat.

This week in Drawing Club, we watched the animation ‘Poddington Peas’. The children have shown lots of imagination in creating their own vegetable characters and stopping the baddies. We extended our learning about plants and vegetables into Science and planted bean seeds. We found out what they need to grow and are now patiently waiting for shoots to appear.

In maths, we have been finding doubles to 10 and have begun to explore odd and even numbers – something particularly evident when trying to share things with a partner fairly.

It has been lovely to see the return of sunny weather this week and the children have had lots of fun exploring outdoors. Our new potions kitchen has been a big hit and it has been great to see the children busy exploring with their friends.

Have a lovely weekend
