This week in Year 4, we have worked incredibly hard across all areas of our learning and have shown fantastic enthusiasm and commitment throughout. In English, we explored The Land of Roar, using the text as inspiration to create rich and imaginative descriptions. We focused on building our vocabulary and including expanded noun phrases and descriptive language to bring our ideas to life. The children worked carefully to plan their own setting descriptions, which they are very much looking forward to writing next week.

In Maths, we have been learning about triangles and lines of symmetry. The children have developed their understanding of different types of triangles and have worked particularly hard to ensure their lines of symmetry and reflections are accurate and neatly presented. Their focus and determination during these lessons have been wonderful to see.

In Geography, we began our exciting new topic on the layers of the Earth. The children learnt about the crust, mantle, outer core and inner core, and showed great curiosity when discussing what lies beneath the surface of our planet. They asked thoughtful questions and enjoyed exploring this new area of learning.

We also had a fantastic time at Sports Day on Tuesday. It was lovely to see such great teamwork, encouragement and positive attitudes throughout the day, with everyone cheering each other on and celebrating each other’s successes. On Wednesday, we enjoyed a special French lesson with Mr Perrin, where we learnt how to name different family members and practised speaking aloud with confidence.

We finished the week with a lovely Forest School session, where we enjoyed exploring the outdoors. The children were excited to spot baby birds and even a frog, making it a memorable and engaging experience for everyone.
