We’ve had a busy and exciting week in Year 4!
In Maths, we’ve been exploring numbers up to 10,000, focusing on finding 100, 10, and 1 more or less than a given number. We also practised placing these numbers on a number line. Times tables have been a key focus too – we’ve been working on our 6 times tables, while also recapping the 3s, 4s, and 8s to build fluency.
In Science, we’ve been recapping the different types of teeth and learning about the inside of a tooth – including the role of each part. The children have shown great curiosity and understanding!
In Geography, we looked at why Ghana is suitable for growing cocoa beans, discussing the four main reasons, and creating a mind map to show what we’ve learned.
In DT, we explored a variety of cushions and their fastenings, thinking carefully about which fastenings are most suitable and why. Lots of thoughtful observations were shared!
Homework this week includes:
- A Carousel Quiz on Soils and Rocks from Year 3 Science
- Spellings
- Times tables practice
Please make sure you are regularly practising rapid recall of times tables, as this is important for helping us progress in Maths.
Have a lovely and restful weekend!
