Believe Sports Awards
This Saturday, the annual Believe Sports Awards are being held at the Edge in Wigan and Wood Fold have been nominated for two awards. Last year’s Boccia team have been nominated for team of the year (from their success of making it through to the North West finals). And our athletics club have been nominated for club of the year from the recent success of winning the Wigan Town Sports for a fourth consecutive year. On top of this, Lyla (Y6) has been nominated for the young achiever of the year award, for all of her accomplishments in tennis over the last academic year. Best of luck from everyone here at Wood Fold!
Year 6 PE
In PE this week, our Year 6 children have been looking at developing their sprinting technique. With the use of the iPads, the children have filmed one another performing the sprint to then suggest ways of how they can improve their technique and speed.
Clubs
Our Autumn clubs are well underway with the children taking part in their first sessions after school this week. Clubs will run right the way up to the end of November. There are still spaces left in the following clubs:
- Y3/4 Girls Athletics
- Y4/5/6 Orienteering
- Y4/5/6 Girls football
- Y5/6 Netball
If your child is signed up to two clubs already they can still join one of the above clubs.
